Contemporary Art with a Heritage Twist.
In this theme, I explore Arabian themes and motifs, as a nod to my own heritage.
Heritage Series IV is a contemporary study of Arabian themes and motifs as a nod to my own heritage, and an exploration of belonging – or lack thereof.  The geometries in Jordanian Bedouin weavings and Palestinian embroidery have been deconstructed and combined with fresh, ‘on-trend’ colour palettes for a fresh take on heritage.
Heritage Series II is a series of artworks that were inspired by an exhibition I visited of tribal Palestinian jewellery.   It is a peaceful homage to the beauty and richness of the culture and its people, which is too often associated only with struggle and conflict.
Of all the world issues we face today, at-risk children are my biggest soft spot. Though I can only start small, I will be donating 30% of sales of artworks within Heritage II to The Shirin Fund, a program run by the Welfare Association, a UK-registered charity that works to support at-risk children in the West Bank and various refugee camps. You can learn more about this fund or donate directly here.
