AMMAN | BUKHARIYA

$ 55.00$ 170.00

This piece was inspired by Souq Al-Bukhariya, an infamous market (“souq”) in downtown Amman that was founded in 1929 by the Bukhara people, who had fled the new Soviet government.

It takes me back to my childhood summers when we would visit Amman; my mum would take my sisters and me to Souq Al-Bukhariya, where she would love bargaining with the various shopkeepers for random accessories, spices, and soaps. Though it’s been through a fire and a few economic downturns, I always stop by this place whenever I make it to downtown Amman.

This is a print of an original collage I created using mixed media (acrylics, India ink, paper, and pastels) on archival paper. Once the artwork is printed, it is signed on the front.

ART PRINTS
I only work with reputable, high-quality fine art printers when producing my art prints. All prints are produced using archival inks and paper, or 100% cotton canvas. This means that if taken care of properly, the colours will not yellow or fade over time.

RESIN ART JEWELLERY
Resin is a material that originally comes from plant resin – the sticky transparent substance you see on tree barks. The resin I use is a jewellery grade resin, which means it’s non-yellowing and non-toxic. Please note that due to their handcrafted nature, the pieces are imperfect; I make individual moulds out of clay and sand the pieces by hand once they cure so the surfaces are uneven. This adds character and depth to your piece.
